Research shows that rural and remote communities are best placed to solve the challenges facing local rural health care.
But how can communities do this? Rural Health Plus is an evidence-based toolkit showcasing strategies, programs and approaches that you can adapt to fit the needs of your community and the people you serve, allowing you to:
Research approaches to community health programs
Discover what works and why
Learn about common obstacles
Connect with program experts
Evaluate your program to show impact
These toolkits have been adapted for Australian-conditions from the Rural Health Information Hub funded the the United States Health Resources and Services Administration.
They have been developed based on a review of rural programs and initiatives and an extensive literature review, to identify evidence-based and promising models. The Toolkit is designed to provide guidance to rural and remote communities interested in undertaking rural health projects in their own towns.
