Simple activities can have a bigt impact on our mental health and wellbeing.
Mindfulness is about slowing down, focusing on the present moment and taking time away from stress and everyday pressures. Creative activities like painting can help people relax, express themselves and connect with others in a positive and supportive environment.
Recently, community members of all ages came together in Collarenebri for our Mental Health Rocks activity, with kids and adults painting colourful rocks, sharing conversations and spending time connecting with community.
The activity formed part of our community wellbeing engagement, creating a safe and welcoming space where people could slow down, get creative and take a moment for themselves.
Our Aboriginal Wellness Worker, Joe-Ann Parker, helped bring the activity to life and shared photos from the day, showcasing the strong sense of connection and participation across the community.

At The Healthy Communities Foundation Australia, we know that mental wellbeing support does not always need to happen in a clinical setting. Simple activities that encourage mindfulness, creativity and connection can play an important role in supporting positive mental health outcomes, particularly in rural and remote communities.
Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the day such a positive and colourful community event.
