International Women's Day - Thank you to our staff who inspire inclusion

Today, the 8th of March, we celebrate International Women's Day and the incredible staff who work with our rural and remote communities to ensure diversity, equality, and inclusivity.

In acknowledgment of our staff's commitment to #InspireInclusion through their work life, we'd like to spotlight some of the wonderful work they are doing:

The Healthy Minds Team

Our Healthy Minds Team work across some of our most rural communities to dismantle stigma around mental health and suicide and provide better access to services. Services accessible to rural women include:

  • Crisis Support Hotline

  • Face-to-face crisis intervention

  • Toolbox Talks

  •  Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training

  • Safe Talk Training and,

  • Mental Health First Aid Course

Rural and Remote Mobile Women’s Sexual and Reproductive Health Clinic Team

Rural and Remote Mobile Women’s Sexual and Reproductive Health Clinic Team recently received $237,000 in State Funding to set up the mobile clinic.

The clinic, based in Collarenebri NSW, will travel across rural and remote NSW to provide women access to essential women’s, sexual and reproductive health services and education.

Galariinbaraay Medical Centre Team

Not only do this wonderful team provide much need medical services to the remote community of Collarenebri, but they also specialise and focus on key services for women:

  • Reproductive health (including contraceptive methods, screening for endometriosis and PCOS, STI checks, referrals to family planning and midwifery)

  • Aboriginal health and wellbeing

These are services that are so often lacking in our rural and remote communities.

To all women at The Healthy Communities Foundation Australia, thank you for being an integral part of creating equality and inclusion in our communities.
