Healthy Communities Foundation Australia’s (HCFA) Community Engagement Officer, Glenn Cotter, recently sat down for coffee with Fire and Rescue officers from the Bega Valley and East Gippsland regions.
The informal catch-up gave the officers a chance to talk openly about the emotional toll of their work and how they’re managing the pressures of frontline emergency response.
“It was a valuable opportunity to connect and let them know what support is available,” Glenn said. “The mental toll of working in emergency services can’t be underestimated, and it’s vital that people can access the right kind of help when they need it.”
Glenn shared information about the mental health services HCFA offers and how frontline workers can get support tailored to their needs.
