Over the last 20 years hundreds of rural and remote general practices have closed, leaving rural and remote people without local access to care within reach of their homes.

The Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation that was established by rural people to help rural and remote towns to sustain local access to health and social care.
Our unique approach has ensured that more than 500,000 people have access to health care that they would otherwise have lost.

The Foundation’s RARMS Model (Rural and Remote Medical Services) has been demonstrated through independent research to be the most successful solution to rural health service sustainability in Australia.
